City Manager Ed Madere serves at the pleasure of the City Commission. He oversees a staff that includes Carol Parker, planning director; Laurie A. Sawrey, finance director; Dave Haskell, public works superintendent; Hal Snow, city attorney; Linda Engbretson, city recorder; and Keith Pinkstaff, harbormaster. The city has several parks. Among them is City Park, 170 SW Third St., which has a playground, sports fields and a community center/senior center.

The Warrenton City Commission meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month in council chambers at City Hall, 225 S. Main Ave. The five-member body is presided over by Gil Gramson, mayor (position 4); Dick Hellberg, vice chairman (position 5); Mark Kujala (position 1); Terry Ferguson (position 2); and Frank Orrell (position 3). Warrenton City Hall and Civic Center at 225 S. Main Ave. was completed in 2000. It includes the Warrenton Fire Department and Warrenton Police Department.

Community Park playground

Carruthers Park on Warrenton Drive (Highway 104) in Hammond, includes a picnic area, walking trails and restrooms. A group is raising money to put a dog park there.

The Warrenton soccer complex on Ridge Road near SW Ninth Street has a half-dozen playing fields.

Parks with picnic areas, trails and/or waterfront viewing areas include Waterfront Park on SE Second St., the Columbia River Viewpoint at the Hammond Marina and a Lewis & Clark viewing site off Warrenton Drive.

The city also oversees the municipal court in the civic center, the public library in Hammond, a marina in Hammond and the Warrenton Boat Basin.
